Iulia Sinescu (born in 2000, Deva) is a contemporary Romanian composer with a comprehensive musical education that combines composition and vocal performance, as well as musical theater.
Educated at the "Gheorghe Dima" National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, with an Erasmus+ semester at the "Jāzeps Vītols" Latvian Academy of Music in Riga, she has developed a personal compositional language that combines traditional elements with innovative contemporary approaches.
Her compositions are performed internationally, including works such as Esmeralda (performed in Mexico by Lidia Guerberof-Hahn) and Lament of the Glaciers (performed by the Ear to the Earth ensemble in Italy). She is the author of the soundtrack for the show Memoirs of a Lolo and has composed music for other theatrical productions, demonstrating her versatility in interdisciplinary collaborations.
Her artistic work is characterized by a concern for interdisciplinarity and sonic narrative, exploring new forms of musical expression and innovative ways of relating between composer, performer, and audience.
